2008 BRUTE /
SJWA War at the South Jersey Shore Folk Style National
Championships
The 5th Annual War at the South Jersey Shore National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships at the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, NJ will bring more than 1000 wrestlers to the Jersey Shore for a highly competitive weekend of wrestling on Friday & Saturday, March 21st - March 22nd, 2008. The 2008 “War” will once again be an Individual Open Youth and HS Tournament with 50 youth weight classes spread across 4 age divisions and a High School Division, with 16 weight classes. The War is a perfect "tune up" for NHSCA Nationals, PJW States and the USAW-NJ Midget and Junior States the following weekend.
Important Tournament News / Changes for 2008:
Due to the high numbers last year (1773 wrestlers) and crowd capacity issues, we are trying to improve your wrestling experience by making key changes to the tournament. The 2008 War will have expanded wrestling hours, a new mat layout that will permit more seating and we will have split sessions on both Friday and Saturday. Bantams, Midgets and Juniors will wrestle in the morning and both Intermediate and High School wrestlers will wrestle in the afternoon each day.
We have also made changes to the Tournament software to facilitate more streamlined automation and we will return to the "SAME MAT ALL TOURNAMENT" format that we heard loud and clear every body loved about our previous SJWA tournaments. Table top bout number boards will be used in addition to a large number of electronic bout boards in the competition area and the hallways!
All of our forms can be downloaded and opened in either of two formats: Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. In order to read the Adobe Acrobat file, you will need to download a free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader:
